Global Online Certificate Course
The Centre for Science and Environment (CSE)—one of the leading think tanks in the Global South working on the politics of development, environment, and climate change—conducted a prestigious Global Online Certificate Course titled “Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data for Effective Research and Communication, Environment, Science, and Development” from 12 November 2025 to 26 November 2025, which was subsequently extended up to 9 December 2025.
In this advanced online programme, eight (08) teaching faculty members and four (04) non-teaching staff members from Maharaja Lakshman Sen Memorial College, Sundar Nagar, Himachal Pradesh, actively participated. Their participation was generously sponsored by Prof. Radhika Chopra, President of the Managing Committee, in honour and memory of late Dr. Hari Sen Ji, former President of the Managing Committee.
The course was designed to empower participants with responsible and ethical use of Artificial Intelligence, bridging the gap between data, knowledge, and actionable outcomes. It focused on enhancing research and communication capacities while enabling participants to create meaningful societal impact in the areas of environment, science, development, and sustainability.
These themes are particularly significant for the state of Himachal Pradesh, which faces pressing environmental and developmental challenges. The CSE Online Certificate Course thus served as an important step towards building institutional capacity to leverage AI and data-driven tools for addressing regional and global issues using the latest technological advancements.
